Quetzalcoatlus was a pterodactyloid pterosaur known from the Late Cretaceous of North America and was the largest known flying animal of all time. It was a member of the Azhdarchidae, a family of advanced toothless pterosaurs with unusually long, stiffened necks. Its name comes from the Mesoamerican feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl. It had a wingspan of between 10–12.3 meters (33–40 ft) and weighed 200 kilograms (440 lbs). The diet of Quetzalcoatlus is still debated since it had a toothless beak. It may have ate carrion, fish and/or dinosaur hatchings.
In When Dinosaurs Roamed America
We only see it in one scene in the late Cretaceous segment. It is flying over when it sees a dead Triceratops. It starts to feast on the rotten remains when a young male Tyrannosaurus rex charges at it, causing it to fly away. Luckily for the pterosaur, it escapes.
