Ornithomimus in When Dinosaurs Roamed America
Creature information
Scientific name : Ornithomimus velox
Time period : Late Cretaceous
Primary diet : Omnivore
In the documentary
Ornithomimus  is a genus of ornithomimid  dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period of what is now North AmericaOrnithomimus was a swift bipedal theropod which fossil evidence indicates was covered in feathers. They were up to 3.7 meters (12 ft) long and weight up to 158.8 kilograms (350 lbs). Ornithomimus had legs that seem clearly suited for rapid locomotion, with the tibia about 20% longer than the femur. The large eye sockets suggest a keen visual sense, and also suggest the possibility that they were nocturnalThe diet of Ornithomimus is still debated since it had a toothless beak. As theropods, ornithomimids might have been carnivorous but their body shape would also have been suited for a partly or largely herbivorous lifestyle. Suggested food includes insects, crustaceans, fruit, leaves, branches, eggs, and the meat of lizards and small mammals.

In When Dinosaurs Roamed AmericaEdit

We see brown feathered ornithomimids living with Triceratops and Edmontosaurus possibly hunting for insects or small vertebrates. It was revealed on the website that these certain kind of ornithomimids are, in fact, Ornithomimus. After a while, the Ornithomimus runs away and is never seen again.

Errors Edit

  • Ornithomimus's hands couldn't pivot without breaking them.
