Coelurosaurs' (from Greek, meaning "hollow tailed lizards") is the clade containing all theropod dinosaurs more closely related to birds than to archosaurs. Coelurosaurs is a subgroup of theropod dinosaurs that includes compsognathids, Tyrannosaurs, Ornithomimosaurs, and Maniraptorans; Maniraptora includes birds, the only dinosaur group alive today. In the past, the name Coelurosaur was used to refer to all small theropods, although this classification has been abolished. The Coelurosaurs in the show are based on a as of yet described species of Coelurosaur from Zuni.

When Dinosaurs Roamed America

In the Middle Cretaceous segment, these Coelurosaurs are seen mostly as backround dinosaurs. Their first apperance is running through the forest, before we meet the Dromaeosaurs. But their true introduction is later when one Coelurosaur is catching a fish. Another Coelurosaur tries to steal the fish but failed and is chased away. They also are seen running around during the fire.
